Kranjska Gora, 13.11. 2019, Hit Alpinea Wins the Sejalec Award
At this year’s Slovenian Tourism Days, Hit Alpinea received the prestigious Sejalec Award for its innovative tourism product, “Three Country Dinner.” The Sejalec Award, presented by the Slovenian Tourist Board, is the highest recognition for innovation in tourism.
The Slovenian Tourism Days, the central professional event for the tourism industry in Slovenia, are currently taking place in Ljubljana. During last night’s ceremony, awards were presented to individuals and organizations whose efforts and ideas have significantly contributed to the development and global recognition of Slovenia as an outstanding tourist destination.
Among the awardees, Hit Alpinea stood out, winning the 2019 Sejalec Award for its product “Three Country Dinner.” The award was presented to Milan Sajovic, CEO of Hit Alpinea, by Maja Pak, MSc, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board.
The Three Country Dinner is a unique culinary journey that spans a radius of 60 kilometers, offering guests the opportunity to experience the gastronomic diversity of three neighboring countries. The experience begins in Kranjska Gora, where guests are welcomed with an aperitif, followed by a warm appetizer in Tarvisio (Italy), the main course in Podklošter/Arnoldstein (Austria), and concludes back in Kranjska Gora with a delectable dessert.
With this product, Hit Alpinea, the largest hospitality provider in Kranjska Gora, has creatively leveraged the cultural and historical ties between the three regions—Slovenia’s Gornjesavska Dolina, Austria’s Carinthia, and Italy’s Friuli Venezia Giulia with Carnia—to craft an innovative culinary and cultural experience. The Three Country Dinner is a rare example of a tourism product that transforms formal borders into an engaging narrative, offering a seamless journey across three nations.
“As a natural extension of our culinary offerings, such as the Kranjska Gora Culinary Trail and the International Culinary Festival, we introduced the Three Country Dinner to our guests. This product transcends traditional culinary boundaries, serving as a cultural bridge that connects the regions along the three borders. It offers an engaging experience that appeals to curious food enthusiasts, active travelers, and families seeking to explore the area. Additionally, it serves as a compelling addition to motivational business trips and events in the region,” said Milan Sajovic, CEO of Hit Alpinea.
