Planica, 14. 8. 2020, Emerging from the Crisis with Groundbreaking Solutions – Creative, Innovative, and Adaptable
During the Ski Jumping World Championships in Planica, the company Hit Alpinea is accommodating all participating teams and accompanying personnel in three hotels in Kranjska Gora. Special hygiene and safety protocols are in place to protect the health of both participants and staff. This time, the ski jumpers will have Kranjska Gora and Planica all to themselves, as the championships will take place without spectators.
Kranjska Gora, which was additionally brightened up today by 70 cm of fresh snow, shows with its appearance that it is ready for the winter season. Unfortunately, the situation is completely different from what the organizers of the biggest sports festival for all ski jumping fans are used to.
Nevertheless, Hit Alpinea, the largest hotel company in the region, is pleased to have implemented all necessary measures to meet the organizers' requirements and to provide accommodations for everyone involved in ensuring the successful execution of the Ski Flying World Championships. This includes athletes, coaches, technical and organizational teams, foreign and Slovenian journalists, as well as other support staff.
Although Hit Alpinea suspended its hotel operations on October 24, the company has thoroughly prepared for the arrival of the World Championship participants. "The arrival of athlete delegations and the hosting of a major international sporting event represent an exception that allows us to briefly resume operations. We are both proud and honored to contribute to the organization of Slovenia's largest sporting event during these extraordinary times," stated Milan Sajovic, Director of Hit Alpinea.
To ensure a welcoming and comfortable experience for guests despite strict health and safety protocols, Hit Alpinea took advantage of the closure period to enhance its facilities. Renovations were made to the lobbies of the Ramada Resort and Hotel Kompas, higher-quality beds were introduced in select hotel rooms, and festive decorations were added to create a cozy and inviting winter atmosphere.
"This season, ski jumpers have Kranjska Gora and Planica entirely to themselves. However, we look forward to welcoming other guests in a similar setting, all while maintaining strict health measures to safeguard well-being and prevent infections. It is essential that we are informed in advance about the possibility of reopening. This allows us to prepare thoroughly and ensure that our guests enjoy a worry-free and relaxing vacation," said Milan Sajovic.
