Ski flying in Planica - End of the Planica 2024 World Cup

Ski flying in Planica is one of the highlights of sporting events in Slovenia every year. Once again many fans gathered under the ski jump to cheer on the world's best competitors loudly and passionately. This year's event in Planica was made special by two accompanying events: On Thursday afternoon, a women's race was held on a small hill in the immediate vicinity of the ski flying area, and on Sunday, none other than Peter Prevc ended his sporting career in a touching and celebratory manner.

During his long and successful sporting career, he stayed several times at our Hotel Kompas, which is somehow (albeit unofficially) reserved for athletes. We believe that he felt at home with us and was always welcome, and we hope he will continue to enjoy returning to us with his family in the future. This time he will not be staying with us due to the pressure of competition, but he will be able to take a well-deserved break.

In addition to Peter Prevc, we have also hosted his national team colleagues, athletes from other countries, the competition organizer and other officials and FIS delegates, without whom there would be no competitions in Planica. We are proud that all these people enjoy our hospitality during this time.

At the venue, under and around the ski slopes, we took care of the catering during the event and kept them fed. With such a beautiful mountain backdrop as Planica, everyone was able to enjoy the excellent cuisine, which certainly made the experience even more memorable.

We can say that we feel like an important link in the chain of this popular and important event, and we assure you that in addition to our work, we enjoy watching the performances and cheering the good results of our athletes. Although the event is big and requires our full commitment, we look forward to the flights in Planica every year.
