Sparkling wine and the Vitranc slopes

Organizing catering at sporting events is always a special challenge and, at the same time, an opportunity to showcase expertise, skills, and hospitality. Sporting events attract a wide range of visitors—from loyal fans to sponsors, organizers, and distinguished business guests. The latter, in particular, expect a top-tier culinary experience. At Hit Alpinea from Kranjska Gora, we take great pride in our catering team, which plays an integral role in these experiences—not only preparing food but also creating unforgettable moments for all attendees.

One of the largest and most prestigious events we have had the honor of being part of for many years is the Vitranc Cup. At the 64th Vitranc Cup, which traditionally takes place in March, the Hit Alpinea team once again provided full catering services for all teams, staff, and support personnel, as well as an exceptional VIP tent experience. “Preparing food for such an event requires precise planning, flawless logistics, and a high level of adaptability. With dedication and professionalism, we served exquisite dishes and ensured guest satisfaction. We placed special emphasis on local specialties, which were highly praised, such as matevž potatos (a traditional Slovenian mashed potato dish with beans). Over the two days of competition, we ‘filled the souls’ of more than 700 satisfied VIP guests. We are delighted that the organizers trust us and that, through our culinary offerings, we can contribute to the recognition and excellence of events like the Vitranc Cup,” says Milan Sajovic, Director of Hit Alpinea.

The most demanding guests expect a top-quality culinary selection that goes far beyond traditional sports snacks. That’s why we always choose high-quality ingredients and prepare dishes that blend local Slovenian flavors with modern culinary trends. Our mouthwatering menu typically includes everything from sea bass From Piran gulf, Idrija dumplings (žlikrofi), roasted potatoes with cracklings, sautéed sauerkraut, homemade cottage cheese dumplings (štruklji), Krškopolje pork, and delicious Bohinj cheese, to internationally inspired dishes such as hemp-infused purée, tonka's brulee, and caramelized coffee.

In addition to serving exceptional dishes, we take great pride in our team of culinary masters, who prepared specialties live in front of guests, slicing succulent ham and crafting gourmet delicacies. This authentic culinary experience added an exclusive touch to the event. And since even VIP guests are passionate fans, they kept their throats refreshed with our house wines and celebrated victories with glasses of sparkling wine in hand.
