There are 40 km of well-maintained cross-country skiing trails between Kranjska Gora and the end of the Tamar valley which are a real winter paradise for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. In the midst of snow-covered trees and with views of the mountain peaks, you will feel like you are in a fairy tale.

Cross-country skiing is certainly one of the most beautiful ways to see the Upper Sava Valley in winter. About 40 km of beautiful cross-country trails will take you from the centre of Kranjska Gora past the source of the Sava River and the ski jumps in Planica, deep into the Tamar valley or onwards into neighbouring Italy. In the opposite direction they extend to Gozd Martuljek. In favourable snow conditions, cross-country skiing opportunities are expanded with trails around nearby towns of Mojstrana, Radovna and Gozd Martuljek. If you want to cross-country ski even after the sun goes down, you can do it at night on the illuminated trail behind the Kompas Hotel.
